What is Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery?
Oral and maxillofacial surgery is the health care specialty that encompasses the examination, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases, injuries, deformities and conditions of the oral and facial region as well as related tissue and supporting structures. Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires up to six years of additional hospital based surgical and anesthesia training.
An oral and maxillofacial surgeon manages a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. Dr. Nichols practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from facial surgery and corrective jaw surgery to wisdom tooth removal. He can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injures and TMJ disorders. Dr. Nichols is experienced with and performs a wide range of dental implant procedures and bone graft placement for implant insertion.
What About the Doctors Staff?
The surgical staff members at Dr. Nichols office are experienced, certified oral and maxillofacial surgery assistants, who assist the doctor with the administration of IV sedation and during surgery. All staff members are CPR certified.
Our administrative personnel are well trained and experienced in dealing with health and insurance policies. Our staff can help you receive benefits from your insurance carrier.
